It is one of the greatest feelings to move to a new area and discover such a fantastic family run takeaway right on your doorstep.
I tried Daisy Fisheries tonight, and can I just say I was certainly not disappointed. It's a traditional chippie in Bramley, right next door to the Daisy pub- and I am sure that the locals definitely whack a visit into their pub routine!
The queue was long, a massive beacon to emphasise their local popularity!
Their drinks selection I was so pleased to see included the standard soft drinks you come to expect from all takeaways, but also Dandelion and Burdock, Cloudy Lemonade and Cream Soda! I was in old school heaven.
They serve haddock as the main fish, but for an extra pound or so, you can ask for cod, something of a rareity these days.
Overall fish and chips come to £3.40, an absolute bargain for the feast being handed over the counter. The staff were lovely and obviously have a good working relationship and couldn't treat their customers better, considering how busy they are!
When I got home, although I'm willing to admit how hungry I was, the food was brilliant. The chips were not too soggy or hard, but it was the fish that caught my attention- it was tender and not too dry, with the crispy batter casing it lovingly.
I will be going back. Brilliant. 5*s from entering, right to the last bite. -

It seems to me that traditional fish and chip shops are getting harder to find but Daisy Fisheries definately qualifies.
They don't do much here but what they do do is great fish and chips served with a smile and a bit of banter. The chips were so oddly random in their size and shape there could be no doubt that there was some poor soul in the back cutting up real potatoes and the fish.....well let me just say that the monster i was served wrapped in beautifully light, crisp batter would have been sold as a special in most places.
